Grammy Awards 2022 rampung digelar Minggu, 3 April 2022 malam waktu Las Vegas atau Senin, 4 April 2022 pagi waktu Indonesia. Jon Batiste jadi bintang di acara tersebut.

Jon Batiste atau Jonathan Michael Batiste keluar sebagai pemenang piala paling prestise di Grammy, Album of the Year. Dalam nominasi ini, Jon Batiste berhasil mengalahkan musisi-musisi ternama seperti Taylor Swift, Kanye West, Lady Gaga, Doja Cat, Billie Eilish, H.E.R, Lil Nas X, Olivia Rodrigo, dan Justin Bieber.

Jon Batiste memimpin di Grammy Awards 2022 dengan 11 nominasi. Dan dia pulang dengan piala terbanyak, yakni 5 buah. Pertama, Jon Batiste mendapat piala untuk Album of The Year. Lalu, ia juga memenangkan Best American Roots Performance dan Best American Roots Song lewat lagu “Cry”. Kemudian, Jon Batiste juga memenangkan kategori Best Score Soundtrack for Media Visual lewat aranasemen lagu dalam film Pixar, “Soul”.

Terakhir, ia juga memenangkan Best Music Video Freedom. Saat menerima piala, Jon Batiste mengaku bahwa ia hanya berkarya sepenuh hati tanpa menyangka akan dapat penghargaan Grammy.

“Saya hanya menundukkan kepala dan mengerjakan itu setiap hari dengan rajin,” kata Jon Batiste.

“Ini lebih dari hiburan bagi saya, ini adalah latihan spiritual,” lanjutnya.

Sementara itu, solois Olivia Rodrigo membawa pulang tiga piala. Penyanyi kelahiran 2003 ini dinobatkan sebagai Best New Artist usai mengalahkan beberapa nama besar lain, seperti Arooj Aftab, Jimmie Allen, Baby Keem, FINNEAS, hingga Saweetie.

Ia juga keluar sebagai pemenang untuk kategori Best Pop Solo Performance. Kemenangan ini diraih berkat single Drivers License yang dirilis pada 2021 lalu.

Tak hanya singlenya, album Sour dari Olivia Rodrigo juga memenangkan piala Grammy Awards 2022 untuk kategori Best Pop Vocal Album.

Band rock Foo Fighters memboyong tiga piala Grammy Awards 2022. Band asal AS ini keluar sebagai pemenang untuk kategori Best Rock Performance untuk single Making a Fire, Best Rock Song untuk lagu Waiting on a War, dan Best Rock Album lewat album Medicine at Midnight.

Grammy Awards tahun ini dimeriahkan dengan penampilan sejumlah musisi ternama, seperti BTS, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X dengan Jack Harlow, dan Olivia Rodrigo.
